We usually use mini-buses or small coaches to travel around in. Again, quality is the watchword. To ensure maximum safety and flexibility we use local drivers we know and trust, or the tour leader does the driving.
Each tour is different as vehicles differ in each country. The picture below shows the vehicle we use for full tours in Namibia. In some countries where roads are bad we use 4X4 vehicles.
In Namibia where we take a maximum group of 10, we take a large vehicle. You can see that this has extra height for better views while birding, as well as 2 roof-top openings for use in Etosha where it is forbidden to leave a vehicle when big game is nearby.
The massive windows can open allowing excellent photographic opportunities and easy use of a telescope. We don't think there is a better safari vehicle for birding than this.
